Prakash Viplav
A FIVE member ‘fact finding’ team including Prakash Viplav and Sufal Mahto, state secretariat members of CPI(M), AIDWA leader Rangowati Devi and secretaries of Sariakela and East Singhbhum district committees of CPI(M) in Jharkhand state, visited Kadamdih village under Sariakela Kharsawa district and met family of Mohammad Tabrez Ansari. Tabrez Ansari who was just 22 years old, he was killed by a mob a few days ago. This is the 18th mob violence victim in Jharkhand in last three years. The Party severely condemns the incident and expresses its concern over the fact that Raghuwar Das, Chief Minister, nor Arjun Munda, central minister, who is also an MP from the constituency, felt any need to meet the aggrieved family. The government is yet to announce any compensation for the family members of the victim.
During the course of investigation by the fact finding team, it became clear from the statements of the family members of the victim and other villagers that the deceased is being falsely indicted on charges of theft to somehow justify the incident of mob killing. Further the two companions of the deceased who were accompanying him on his way back from Jamshedpur are missing till date and a case has been lodged in the local police station.
The fact finding team has reached the conclusion that the gruesome incident is attributed to increasing communal polarisation cultivated by right wing forces.
The delegation demands compensation of Rs 25 lakhs to the family of the victim; strict action according to Supreme Court guidelines against the culprits; trial of the case in fast track court and withdrawal of false charges of theft against the victim.
