ANDHRA PRADESH: Rich Tributes Paid to Comrade M Basavapunnaiah

RICH tributes were offered to Comrade Makineni Basavapunnaiah, a great Marxist theoretician and one of the pioneers of CPI(M), on the occasion of his 27th death anniversary. A meeting was conducted at MB Vignana Kendram (MBVK) at Vijayawada on April 12. P Madhu, chairman of MBVK Trust and CPI(M) state secretary explained the life of Comrade MB and his contribution to the Indian communist movement. He praised the vision of Comrade MB, which has been showing the party a clear direction in difficult situations. Madhu appealed the young cadre to study the writings of Comrade MB and to imbibe the communist spirit and also to learn his analytical approach. V Srinivasa Rao, CPI(M) Central Committee member remembered some experiences with Comrade MB. He narrated that MB and other founders of the Party gave utmost importance for the unity of the party and to evolve consensus on various issues.  Y Venkateswara Rao, MBVK trust secretary and state secretariat member of CPI(M) explained about the student life and the contribution of Com MB. He hailed the struggle against caste discrimination under the leadership of MB as a student in the colonial days. B R Tulasi Rao, chairman of CPI(M) state control commission presided over the meeting.
