Left Parties Hold Election Rallies in AP

B Tulasidas

‘COMMUNISTS are peoples’ voice, they echo the public issues in the assembly and parliament, hence elect them’, appealed Sitaram Yechury, general secretary, CPI(M) in a public meeting on  March 25, at Vijayawada. Huge rally and public meeting was held in connection with the filing of nomination papers by Ch Baburao, CPI(M) candidate from Vijayawada (central) assembly constituency. Sitaram Yechury lamented the failures of Modi government and explained how the present rule has enhanced the misery of the people. He said that an alternative secular government will be formed after the general elections. He further commented that at the state level, adjustments are going on to defeat BJP and its allies. Though the BJP government at centre belied its assurances given to the state of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu allied with BJP for four years and now, the YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy is in friendship with the saffron party. Yechury appealed to the public to defeat both the parties and to elect CPI(M), CPI, Janasena and the BSP in AP.

Sunam Rajaiah filed his nomination papers for Rampachodavaram (ST) constituency on March 25. Impressive rally and public meeting was held in which BV Raghavulu, Polit Bureau Member, CPI(M) attended. He accused that both TDP and YSRCP cheated the tribal people and other poor people by displacing them in the name of Polavaram. CPI(M) has been fighting for the cause of displaced people and of the common man, he explained.

Brinda Karat, Member of Polit Bureau, CPI(M) attended a rally and public meeting in connection with the nomination filing of Killo Surendra to the Araku(ST) assembly constituency on  March 23. She explained that the erstwhile Y S R Reddy and Chandrababu governments of united Andhra Pradesh had made attempts for Bauxite mining, which is detrimental to the Tribals. Tribes under the leadership of CPI(M) and AARM could fight back. She requested the people to defeat TDP and YSRCP and to elect CPI(M) candidate to the assembly and  Janasena candidate to the parliament. She explained the machinations of BJP and sangh pariwar to divide people on communal lines and appealed the masses to foil that game. Leaders of CPI, Janasena and BSP also attended the above meetings and appealed the voters to defeat TDP, YSRCP, BJP and the Congress.

CPI(M) and CPI had seat adjustment with Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena party(JSP) in AP. JSP has come to an understanding with BSP. CPI(M) and CPI are contesting two parliament and seven assembly seats each, while BSP is contesting in three parliament and 21 assembly seats.
