RSS Attacks on SFI Activists in Kerala
The ABVP-RSS goons have been targeting SFI activists in Kerala. In the past few weeks, there were several attacks on SFI leaders in various parts of Kerala.
December 16, 2016: KS Akhil, SFI unit president of Kerala Varma College in Thrissur was attacked on his way to the college by two ABVP-RSS men on a bike. He suffered injuries to his right hand and had to be admitted to hospital.
January 18, 2017: Rathin Raj, joint secretary of Konni area committee of SFI in Pathanamthitta district was attacked by about 20 RSS goondas. He was attacked with a sword and iron roads and suffered deep cuts on his heads, hands and other parts of his body. He was admitted to the Pathanamthitta General Hospital.
January 18, 2017: On the same day, another Left activist, Aril, was stabbed by a gang at the Brennen College in Kannur district. He, along with other SFI activists, were attacked when they returned to the campus after a study tour. Aril was wounded in his hands and legs.
February 14, 2017: Dheeraj P Dominic, the SFI unit Secretary in Kizhur Vivekananda College was attacked by ABVP goons and was severely injured and had to be hospitalised.
These incidents show how the ABVP-RSS are physically targeting SFI activists in Kerala. These cowardly attacks are being made as the SFI is a strong force among the students in the state. The ABVP is indulging in goondaism in other university campuses as recently seen in Delhi University and Pune University.
