THE All India Kisan Sabha, in a statement issued on February 15, has strongly condemned the killing of Comrade Swapan Malik by TMC goons at Raina Block of Burdwan District on February 11 during a protest by peasants and agricultural workers against the anti-people Mamata Banerjee regime. TMC goons attacked with weapons and bombs when a massive rally was held demanding ration cards for the poor peasants and agricultural workers. Many people were injured in the attack. Com Swapan Malik, a poor farmer who was an activist of the Kisan Sabha was killed in their attack. AIKS salutes the martyr Com Swapan Malik and expresses condolences to his family. The Paschim Banga Krishak Sabha general secretary Amal Haldar and Khet Majoor Sanghatan general secretary, Tushar Ghosh visited the region and met the injured as well as family members of Com Swapan Malik. On February 12, massive protest rally was held and a spontaneous hartal was observed. AIKS warns the Trinamul government that such attacks will be met with resolutely by unleashing massive protests against the government. AIKS will build united resistance against such attacks.
