August Campaign in Haryana
AT the call of the Central Committee, the August campaign was conducted successfully in the state. The state committee meeting held on July 9-10, discussed in detail and planned for the campaign that began from July 25. Meetings of district committes/ district organising committees, local and area committees were organised. Party centre highlighted the issues through demands and prepared the material to be used for propaganda in the campaign. A special bulletin ‘Sangharsh Sandesh’ was published by the state centre. 5000 copies were published and distributed. The campaign could not be launched as per the plan because of possibility of panchyat elections in second or third week of August.
During this campaign, 86 thousand handbills were printed and distributed by the district level committees. Two districts, Hisar and Rohtak published posters also. 500 group meetings, street corner meetings etc were organised.
District level protest demonstrations were organised from August 7 to 14 throught the state. In all these demonstrations, state leaders participated. Ranging from 70 to 1500 people participated in these protest actions. A total of 7873 people participated in the demostration 30 percent of whom were women.
