ASHA Workers to Hold Protest Dharna in Jammu
THE working committee meeting of the ASHA Workers Union, Jammu region was held on July 5 under the chairmanship of Anita Devi at its office premises in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
While addressing the meeting, Sham Prasad Kesar, senior leader of the CITU and convener, Scheme Workers Sub Committee (J&K) demanded that the payment for the delivery cases be made to both the ASHAs and the beneficiaries from the BMO office. The other demands of the ASHA workers include timely and regular payment of their incentives, immediate payment of arrears of assured incentive at Rs 1000 per month with effect from April 2014, coverage of ASHA workers under Aam Admi Bima Yojna, deputation for various trainings on the strict basis of seniority, changing room in every hospital, ASHA workers be paid Rs 15000 as minimum wages till regularised as permanent employees, providing mobile set, two uniforms, washing allowance, identity card, bus pass, all facilities under BPL scheme and TA and DA for official meetings.
ASHA workers union decided to hold protest dharna on August 4 at Jammu to focus their just and genuine demands.
Sudesh Kumari, Anita Rani, Surender Kour, Champa Devi, Bimla Devi, Kanta Devi, Renu Bala, Geeta Devi, Anuradha, Lalita Devi and other senior leaders of the union participated in the meeting.
