DYFI Observes Hiroshima Day in Tripura

ON August 6, on the occasion of Hiroshima day, the Democratic Youth Federation of India has organised a rally in Agartala to protest against the imperialist blue print of war across the globe and Israeli attacks in Gaza Strip. The protest march started with a release of a white pigeon by Sisir Deb, general secretary of Tripura Sanskriti Samanway Kendra. The protest march was full of slogans, posters, and placards and many eminent cultural activists, activists of Science movement and other sections of the masses including Trade Union leaders, journalists and hundreds of youth participated in it. After the protest march, a programme at City Centre started with the message from the science, technology and environment minister Bijita Nath. Songs, signature campaigns, recitations, paintings on the road by painters condemning war and slide shows were part of the programme. Editor of Desher Katha, Gautam Das, DYFI state secretary Amal Chakraborty and other eminent persons addressed the gathering and urged the masses to unite against the imperialist designs of war and voice protest against the shameless stand of the Indian government on Israel’s aggression on Gaza strip.
