CPI(M) Demands Re-Poll In 301 Booths in Bengal
THE CPI(M) has demanded re-poll in 301 booths in five Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal for which elections were held on May 7. In a memorandum submitted to the Election Commission, the Party has said that rigging and violence in the elections held on May 7, have completely distorted the process of conducting free and fair polls. The Party has said that for the restoration of the people’s faith in the electoral process, it is essential that re-poll is conducted in the booths where rigging has taken place.
A delegation of Polit Bureau members, S Ramachandran Pillai and Sitaram Yechury met the full Commission on May 7 at 5.30 p.m.
The Party has also demanded that appropriate steps should be taken to identify and apprehend those who are responsible for such grave malpractices and the consequent gross distortion of the election process.
The list submitted by the Party of the 301 booths where rigging has taken place and where it has demanded a re-poll, is given below.
33 Jhargram (ST) PC
221 AC: Trinamool Congress people gathered inside PS No. 113 and pressurised voters to cast their votes in favour of them.
233-Garbeta AC: Trinamool Congress miscreants captured the following booths and voting done forcefully in support of AITC. They also blocked the camera to avoid video recording.

234-Salboni AC: 43, 48, 133, 134, 135, 144, 145, 165, 167, 168, 169, 170, 174, 175, 176, 177, 178, 184, 186, 188, 189, 190, 191, 192, 193, 195, 196, 197, 223, 229, 232, 233, 234, 235, 261, 262, 273, 274, 295 (39 booths).
The Bike Vahini roamed in the area and terrorised the voters in polling booth Nos 293 & 294 (2 booths).
34 Medinipur PC
219-Dantam AC: Polling agents were driven out and fake votes cast by AITC workers in the following booths: 172, 173, 236 (3 booths).
Voters were forced to cast votes for AITC by miscreants standing near the ballot units in the following booths: 174, 184 (2 booths).
Polling agents were driven out and polling officer was prevented to perform his function and AITC workers cast votes forcibly in booth Nos. 211, 212 (2 booths).
Presiding officer cooperated with the AITC workers to cast false vote in booth No. 235 (1 booth)
228-Kharagpur AC: Polling agents were driven out and large-scale false voting done after capture of the following booths: 30, 31, 44, 45, 46, 47, 52, 53, 60, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 76, 77, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 93, 94, 98, 100, 105, 107, 108 (29 booths).
36 Bankura PC
CPI(M) polling agents were driven out by AITC goons and rigging took place in the following booths:
247 AC: 251 (1 booth).
249 AC: 197 (1 booth).
251 AC: 122, 123, 126 (3 booths).
252 AC: AITC booth camps are within 200 metres in booth Nos. 110, 115 and terrorised the voters (2 booths).
37 Bishnupur (SC) PC
253 AC: AITC goons captured booth and rigging took place in booth Nos. 68, 213 (2 booths).
254 AC: CPI(M) agent forced to leave in booth No. 136 (1 booth).
255 AC: CPI(M) polling agents were not allowed to enter in the booth by AITC in polling station Nos. 215, 216, 222 (3 booths).
AITC goons threatened voters and gathered outside the booth Nos. 65, 66, 67 (3 booths).
AITC goons captured booth and rigging took place in booth Nos. 21, 22, 167, 168, 169, 170, 171, 176, 181, 192, 193, 194, 196, 201, 202 (15 booths).
256 AC: AITC goons captured booth and rigging took place in booth Nos. 179, 181, 182, 190, 194, 202-210, 212, 213 (16 booths).
257 AC: AITC goons captured booth and rigging took place in booth Nos. 20, 21, 190, 191, 202, 257 (6 booths).
258 AC: CPI(M) polling agents were not allowed to enter in the booth by AITC in polling station Nos. 193, 215 (2 booths).
AITC goons threatened voters and gathered outside the booth No. 4 (1 booth).
AITC goons captured booths and rigging took place in booth Nos. 178, 192, 193, 203, 204, 206, 207, 215, 238, 239, 240, 246, 248 (13 booths).
259 Khandaghosh AC: AITC goons unauthorisedly entered into the following booths and threatened the voters to cast their votes for AITC: 135, 173, 174, 209, 211 (5 booths).
CPI(M) polling agents were beaten up and driven out from polling station from the following booths: 10, 15, 16, 75, 77, 80, 81, 86, 87 (9 booths).
AITC goons captured the booths and rigging took place in booth Nos. 70, 71, 72-85, 145, 146, 199, 200, 271 (21 booths).
40 Asansol PC
278 Raniganj AC: Unwanted outsiders gathered and they ordered the common voters to cast their votes in favour of AITC candidates in the following booths: 40, 41, 43, 44, 45, 46, 49, 50, 51, 52, 58, 59, 60, 61 (14 booths).
279-Jamuria AC: AITC goons captured the following booths: 193, 194, 195, 196 (4 booths).
Pre-polling mock poll figures were not erased and polling started from that condition in booths Nos. 188 and 189 (2 booths).
Total number of booths where rigging took place is 301 (as per reports received till 4 pm).
