SFI, DYFI Hold Rally on Bhagat Singh’s 107th Birth Anniversary

PUNJAB state units of SFI and DYFI jointly organised a rally on September 28 to mark the 107th birth anniversary of Shaheed-E– Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh at his native village of Khatkar Kalan in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. The rally was jointly presided over by DYFI state president Surinder Khiwa and SFI state president Swaranjit Singh Daleo.

Revolutionary Tributes Paid to Comrade Surjeet

A PUBLIC rally was organised in Punjab’s Jalandhar district on September 21 to observe 6th death anniversary of Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet, a renowned Communist leader and former general secretary of CPI(M). Addressing the large gathering, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member M A Baby recalled the contributions made by Surjeet in upholding the banner of secularism, and called upon the brave and patriotic people of the state to foster the widest mobilisation of secular and democratic forces against Hindutava outfits and other communalists of various hues.

Desh Sewak Commemorate Sixth Death Anniversary of Comrade Surjeet

A FUNCTION was organised on August 1 at Bhakna Bhawan in Chandigarh to commemorate the 6th death anniversary of Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet, an exceptional Communist and former general secretary of the CPI (M).

 

A large number of people attended the function, organised by leading Punjabi daily Desh Sewak. CPI (M) central secretariat member Joginder Sharma was the chief speaker.

 

Withdraw Hikes in Hospital Charges: CPI(M)

THE Punjab state secretariat of the CPI(M) has condemned the Akali-BJP government of the state for manifold increases in the government hospital charges in the state. For instance, the charge for an OPD slip, which was Rs 2 in April 2013, has been increased five times and now it is Rs 10 with effect from July 1, 2014. There have been big hikes in ECG, X-ray, ultrasound memography, CT scan and ambulance charges as well.
