AIPSO Condemns US Treatment

THE All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) condemns the shameful way in which the US authorities had treated senior Indian diplomat Devayani Khobragade. This is in utter violation of the Vienna Convention principles that guide the diplomatic conduct of various countries towards each other. This incident smacks of contempt the US holds over the sovereignty and self-respect of the developing countries like India and their diplomatic officials.

Central Committee Communique

THE Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met in Agartala, Tripura from December 13 to 15, 2013. This is the first time that the meeting of the Central Committee of the Party has been held in Tripura. After the meeting, the Central Committee has issued the following statement on December 16:

CONDOLENCE
The Central Committee adopted a condolence resolution paying homage to Nelson Mandela, Võ Nguyên Giáp, Shyamali Gupta, member of the Central Committee and Y Radhakrishnamurthy, former member of Andhra Pradesh secretariat of the Party.

Left Protests Attack on Democracy in Bengal

THE Left Front of West Bengal sat in a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on December 18 to protest against the onslaught on democratic rights of people in the state. Over 150 elected representatives from the state participated to protest against attacks on Left workers. The meeting was presided over by Biman Basu, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member and chairman of the West Bengal Left Front. The general secretaries of CPI(M), CPI, AIFB, Prakash Karat, S Sudhakar Reddy, Debabrata Biswas and the secretary of RSP, Abani Roy addressed the dharna.

Aadhar Compromised

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on December 5, 2013.

THE report that the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has tied up with a US company with CIA links is a matter of deep concern.  According to a report in the Economic Times, a US company, MongoDB is providing the software to manage the data base for the registration of Aadhar.  One of the investors in this company is the CIA.

CPI(M) Leaders Meet General Secretary of CP Vietnam

Prakash Karat, general secretary of the CPI(M) along with Sitaram Yechury, Polit Bureau member interacted with Nguyen Phu Trong, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam who was a State visit to India. Both the leaders exchanged views on the current developments and expressed happiness over the strategic partnership between India and Vietnam. Nguyen Phu Trong thanked the people of India and the CPI(M) for their support to Vietnam and expressed the need for further strengthening of people-to-people relations.

WTO REJECTS G-33 PROPOSAL:India must not Give in to Unjust Pressure

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on November 24, 2013.
THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) expresses concern at the efforts to defeat the G-33 proposal on public food stockholding, which is being negotiated in the backdrop of the next ministerial meeting of the WTO in Bali in December 2013.
