On Language in Social Media

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on June 20, 2014.
THE decision of the Modi government to use only Hindi language as the sole medium of communication for government information on social media is against the principle of linguistic equality and is an injustice to other national languages. 
The government should modify its policy and use along with Hindi other national languages as well as English for communication in social media. 

On Saradha Judgement

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on May 9, 2014.
THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) welcomes the Supreme Court judgement which has handed over the Saradha chit fund case to the CBI. The Saradha scam had affected 25 lakh depositors in four states. But the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal has been doggedly opposing investigation by the CBI in the matter.

EC Must Stop Misuse of Religion

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on May 6, 2014.
THE rally addressed by Narendra Modi at Faizabad on May 5 had a portrait of Lord Ram as the backdrop. Narendra Modi also made a direct appeal invoking the name of Ram in his political statements. These are a blatant misuse of religious appeal for electoral purposes. The Election Commission should immediately take action against this electoral offence.

CPI(M) Condemns Savage Killings

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on May 3, 2014.
THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the savage killing of 31 people by Bodo extremist elements in Kokrajhar and adjoining districts of the Bodoland Territorial Council. This shocking attack targeting Bengali Muslims in various villages has led to the death of a large number of women and children.

 The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met in New Delhi on January 21 and 22, 2014. It has issued the following statement on January 22, 2014.
 
CURB PRICE RISE OF LPG CYLINDERS
 
The CPI(M) and the Left parties have been protesting against the exorbitant rise in the price of unsubsidised gas cylinders and the ceiling on subsidised gas cylinders of nine per year. Protests against this price rise were held in various parts of the country. In Kerala alone in 1400 places CPI(M) leaders began indefinite hunger strike from January 15.
