Give More Time for Opinions on Review of Personal Law: AIDWA

THE All India Democratic Women’s Association has sent a memorandum to Sushil Kumar Modi, MP and Chair, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law & Justice, on November 4, regarding the review of personal law which is sought to be undertaken by the committee. A press communiqué issued on behalf of the Standing Committee on October 11, 2022, asked for memoranda concerning the entire gamut of personal law within a short period of 21 days.

Withdraw Anti-Women Decision by Indian Bank: AIDWA

ALL India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) in a press note issued on June 15 strongly condemned the decision of the Indian Bank not to appoint selected women candidates who are six or more months pregnant. AIDWA said: “This anti-women decision by the Indian Bank is similar to the one taken by the State Bank of India some months ago. The SBI had to withdraw their decision due to huge protests from various quarters.”

Amendment of Age of Marriage: Women’s Organisations Express Concern

NATIONAL women’s organisations – All India Democratic Women’s Association, National Federation of Indian Women, All India Progressive Women’s Association, Pragatisheel Mahila Sangathan, and the All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan – sent a memorandum to Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, chairperson, Parliamentary Standing Committee, on May 17 regarding the Proposed Amendment of Age of Marriage 2021.

AIDWA Observes International Women’s Day

MARCH 8, 2022 - 112 years of a long and arduous struggle for women’s rights. International Women’s Day (IWD) is observed all over the world to reiterate the struggle for equality, justice and a violence free life for women. The Modi-led BJP-RSS government has ruthlessly pursued policies which have increased insecurity in the lives of the majority of Indians.

Women Fight Price Rise

THOUSANDS of women all over the country responded to the call by the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) and came out on the roads on November 16, 2021, in protest against the uncontrolled price hikes, and condemned the failure of the BJP-RSS regime in providing relief to crores of the poor.
