KERALA: Rahul’s Candidature from Wayanad: Cong Must Decide its Priority

THE primary aim of the CPI(M) in the April-May parliamentary election is to defeat the BJP and its allies, and the Congress must decide what its priority is, party general secretary Sitaram Yechury told a ‘Meet the Press’ event in Thiruvananthapuram on March 31 in response to a question on the candidature of Congress president Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad in Kerala.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, Nilotpal Basu, has written to the chief election commissioner, Election Commission of India on March 29 regarding various issues, including attacks on candidates by the ruling party in Tripura.  He drew the attention of the CEC to the letter written by the CPI(M) candidate Shankar Prasad Dutta, from 1- Tripura West parliamentary constituency to the CEC dated March 28, 2019.

Reply to EC’s Letter

SITARAM Yechury, general secretary of Communist Party of India (Marxist) has written a reply to the letter from the chief election commissioner, Election Commission of India on March 30, on the issue of Prime Minister’s address to the nation.  A letter dated March 29, 2019 signed by the principal secretary, Election Commission of India, was received by Yechury regarding the complaint he had made of the prime minister’s address to the nation as being violative of the model code of conduct.

Left Unleashes Electoral Campaign in Telangana

TELANGANA state is having 17 parliamentary seats, out of which 4 seats namely Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahbubabad and Bhonagiri will be jointly contested by CPI (M) and CPI. CPI(M) is contesting Khammam and Nalgonda, CPI is contesting Bhonagiri and Mahbubabad. 

CPI(M) has officially announced the candidature of Mallu Laxmi from Nalgonda constituency and B Venkat from Khammam constituency. Kalluri Venkateswarlu and Goda Sreeramulu are contesting from Mahbubabad and Bhonagiri as CPI candidates.
