TN: Chennai Gets Ready to host 16th Conference of CITU

THE 16th conference of CITU is scheduled to be held in Chennai from January 23-27, 2020. With only a few days left, final touches are being given to the preparations for the conference. Chennai is hosting the all India conference for the third time.

The fourth all India conference of CITU was held in Madras in April 1979. At that time, with more than 5000 delegates, it was a Himalayan task for CITU and its fraternal organisations in Tamil Nadu to host the conference, which was successfully carried out.

THE working group meeting of Jan Ekta Jan Adhikaar Andolan (JEJAA) held in New Delhi has called upon all sections of the people of the country to intensify the ongoing agitations against the attack on constitution and democracy through the CAA/NRC/NPR.  In a press release issued on January 15, it said that the campaign and mobilisation will be held in support of the following demands:

THE Narendra Modi led BJP government which is facing mounting united protests by the workers, peasants, students, youth and the oppressed against the pro-corporate neoliberal economic policies and repressive measures against democratic protests has chosen to invite the Brazilian president Jair Messias Bolsonaro as the chief guest at India’s Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
