RAJASTHAN state secretariat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has termed the disgusting tactics of the BJP, which are constantly being adopted for conspiring to demolish the democratically elected state-government in the state, against the Constitution of India and killing democracy.

PLACING the Central Committee decisions in a press conference held on July 27 , Sitaram Yechury, general secretary of the CPI(M) said that on the 16 demands of the people of the country a week long campaign and protests will be organised throughout the country by the Party units from August 20-26. He said, owing to the pandemic the CC meeting was held online.

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly denounces the union cabinet decision to unilaterally impose a New Education Policy and rename the ministry of human resource development. Education is in the concurrent list in our constitution. It is a gross violation by the central government to impose a New Education Policy unilaterally bypassing all the objections and opposition recorded by various state governments.
THE formation of the communist government in Kerala on April 5, 1957 was hailed in India and throughout the world as a new experiment. Before this, the Communist Party had never won a free and fair election in any part of the world. The Communist Party won 65 seats in the then legislative assembly of 127 and emerged as the single largest party in the first elections held for the newly formed Kerala state. It secured more than 50 per cent of the votes in 34 constituencies and between 48 and 50 per cent votes in 8 constituencies.
SEVERAL thousands of workers, peasants and agricultural workers staged protest demonstrations at the block level on July 23, demanding ration, jobs/unemployment allowances and healthcare facilities. The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and the All India Agricultural Workers’ Union (AIAWU) jointly gave the call for protest on burning issues of the people amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
ON July 29, Nilotpal Basu, Polit Bureau member of CPI(M), had written a letter to the Election Commission of India expressing CPI(M)’s views in response to their letter dated July 17, 2020 seeking opinions on the modalities to be followed for holding elections to Bihar assembly.
THE people of Jammu and Kashmir had opted to become part of secular India rather than the Muslim Pakistan not simply by virtue of the Instrument of Accession which is the legal basis of the association, but more importantly because of those promises of building a pluralist, secular India in which the people of J&K were to have a very special status and maximum autonomy. Those promises were contained in Article 370 of the Indian constitution and in the constitution of J&K itself.
THE pandemic and the lockdown are certainly causing an absolute shrinkage in the gross domestic product of the Indian economy. But these tend to obscure something very serious that was happening even earlier, namely a real income decline for vast numbers of working people.
THE All India Co-ordination Committee of Road Transport Workers Organisations (AICCORTWO) has called for a protest day on August 5, in a move to draw attention to the severe crisis that is pushing the transport industry to collapse during the Covid-19 pandemic despite the workers being on duty braving dire conditions.
