THE CPI(M) Manipur state secretariat met on January 2 to address the current state of affairs following the May 3 incident. The gathering observed two minutes of silence in remembrance of the four people who lost their lives in the Lilong Chingjao incident on New Year, perpetrated by unidentified gunmen. Condemning the killings and arson targeting minority communities, the meeting also denounced the actions of unidentified armed individuals masquerading as state armed forces.

THE first state conference of the Himachal Apple Growers Association took place on December 24-25, 2023, at Rampur in the Shimla district in which 92 delegates from 16 blocks participated. Following the condolence resolution, CITU state leader Amit delivered the welcome address at the conference.

The SFI continued to hold protests against the nominations of the members associated with different Sangh Parivar organisations to the senate of the University of Calicut. The SFI members marched to the university during the presence of the Chancellor to register their opposition against the nominations, now stayed by the Kerala High Court.
