A CALL for ‘rural hartal’ - grameen Bharat bandh on January 8, 2020 was given in the meeting of Central Kisan Council(CKC) of the All India Kisan Sabha(AIKS), on November 22, 2019. The call of grameen Bharat bandh was also endorsed by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Co-ordination Committee (AIKSCC), in a convention which was held on November 29-30, 2019 at Delhi.  Support to the January 8 industrial strike, a call given by the 10 central trade unions was also endorsed by the convention.

OPPRESSION and killing innocent people has become a gauntlet of Yogi rule in UP. On the one hand rapists, rioters and murderers aligned to the BJP are allowed to roam scot-free, on the other, tremendous repression is mounted on the dalits, backwards, women and especially the Muslim minority in the state of UP. There is no limit to the hate against the Muslims and the protesters who were protesting against the CAA and the proposed NRC.

IMAGINE if the Hyderabad style of justice was delivered to the accused in the Gudiya rape and murder case in Shimla by killing him, a gross violation of human rights would have happened. The revelations made in the Gudiya case exhibits serious lapse in the investigation by CBI and contradiction between the Himachal Pradesh Police(HPP) and the CBI.

GUDIYA CASE

IT has been doing the rounds.  The surreptitious strike, which transformed the funding of political parties by the corporates, was of such far-reaching consequence, that the controversy has already reached the hallowed portals of the Supreme Court.

THE BJP government, since assuming office for a second term in May 2019, has been working overtime to take away the rights of workers through codifications of labour laws, a euphemism for corporate unbridled process of profit maximisation. Accordingly, the labour minister introduced the Code on Wages and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code in the Lok Sabha on July 23. The Code on Wages was passed by Lok Sabha on July 30 and got the Rajya Sabha nod on August 2. The president gave his assent on August 8.
