Comrade Abdul Hameed Wani

THE CPI(M) condoles the death of Comrade Abdul Hameed Wani, veteran leader of the Party and one of the founders of the kisan movement in the Jammu & Kashmir state. He breathed his last on April 23, in SKIMS(Sher- i- Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences), Srinagar.

The Party has expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. While paying homage to the late leader, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said that Abdul Hameed Wani was one of the architects of the kisan movement who played a pivotal role in organising the peasantry against various remnants of feudalism after historic land reforms of 1953. He was an epitome of wisdom who embodied a great sense of conviction and proclivity for the destiny of shared goals of the working class. His departure marks the end of an era in kisan movement of J&K. Abdul Hamid Wani’s tenacity and commitment to fight for the working class is a legacy of sacrifices, unity, and upholding secular traditions.

The Party has conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
