The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on September 1, 2016.
 
THE CPI(M) extends its support to the call of the central trade unions for a general strike on September 2.
 
The Polit Bureau calls upon all its Party units and cadres to make the strike successful.
