Protests Galore In Telangana & AP

PROTESTS were held across both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states against the decision of Modi government raising the prices of petrol and diesel. Rasta rokos, burning of effigies, demonstrations, manually pulling vehicles, motorcycle rallies etc were some of the forms adopted by the protestors. Hyderabad witnessed protests galore on July 1 with activists of CPI(M) and CITU staging protests in various parts of the city. In Malakpet, they pulled an auto trolley with ropes in a symbolic gesture of unbearable prices of petrol and diesel. In Uppal, protestors burnt the effigy of union government. They raised slogans against Modi government terming the decision to hike petro prices as backstabbing of people. Addressing the protestors, CPI(M) leaders pointed out that Narendra Modi in his election campaign has made repeated hikes of petro prices an issue against UP{A government but within a month after assuming charge, he pursued the same policy of burdening the people with hikes. There is no difference between BJP and Congress on the front of economic policies.
