Namo-Raga will only Lead to Crises

Yechury

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury warned that the policies of Narendra Modi- led BJP and Rahul Gandhi-led Congress will only lead to more crises in the coming period for the country. He called upon people to stengthen Left parties in order to ensure a genuine alternative formation at the centre that will implement pro-people policies. Yechury toured Telangana region campaigning for the CPI(M) candidates for both assembly and Lok Sabha seats. A big meeting was organised in Hyderabad on April 22nd at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in support of 5 assembly candidates contesting in the central region of Greater Hyderabad. CPI(M) Polit Bureau member B V Raghavulu, central committee member and editor of Telangana Prajasakti, S Veeraiah also participated in the meeting that was presided over by CPI(M) Greater Hyderabad Centre Committee secretary and Party candidate from Musheerabad assembly segment M Srinivas. The leaders released five sky-light Red baloons on this occasion. Addressing the gathering Yechury said the people have to look at policies instead of leaders because the choice being thrust before them -- Namo or Raga -- both have similar economic policies that will only land the country in deeper trouble. The people are eagerly looking for relief from rising prices, unemployment, lack of minimum support price for farm produce, lack of irrigation etc. But these two parties do not have any blueprint for solving these problems. They are only keen to serve the interests of big corporates, charged Yechury. He lampooned the so-called wave in favour of Narendra Modi by saying that he couldn’t locate it as he toured from Assam to Tamilnadu as part of campaigning. He also questioned why Modi was contesting from two seats if there was indeed a wave. Raghavulu in his speech lambasted Telugu Desam party president Chandrababu Naidu for allying with BJP, facilitating its growth in both the states. He reminded Babu about his earlier criticism of Modi on Gujarat riots. Babu’s dreams of playing a crucial role in the next government’s formation at the centre will come to naught, he felt. He called for electing pro-people CPI(M) candidates so that people’s interests can be effectively championed in the legislatures. S Veeraiah highlighted the role played by lone CPI(M) MLA for the last five years and stressed the need to elect CPI(M) candidates to champion the cause of the people. He attacked Congress and TRS for indulging in competitive claims about “giving Telangana” and “achieving Telangana” and advised them to instead make clear their plans on how to re-build Telangana in the coming five years. Road Shows Later Sitaram Yechury participated in road show in Nalgonda district campaigning for CPI(M) candidates. Hundreds of people participated on bikes in the rally. Today, Yechury is campaigning in Warangal and Khammam districts.
