THE central executive committee of the Students’ Federation of India, in a statement issued on December 29, 2017 has condemned the murderous attacks on SFI activists yesterday in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala.
THE students of Jawaharlal Nehru University gave a decisive mandate to the United Left Panel of SFI-AISA-DSF in the recently concluded student union elections. This victory comes after a year of relentless struggles by the outgoing union led by SFI and AISA. The ABVP finished a distant second on all the four posts. The ABVP couldn’t even manage to win a single councilor post on its own. The United Left (AISA-SFI-DSF) won all four central panel seats and 13 councilor posts across SSS, SIS and SLL and CS.

THE spate of racial violence on African citizens living in India has yet again brought to fore the routine racial discrimination that they have to face in their daily lives. The fact that such acts of violence are happening in the National Capital is even more worrying.
THE Students’ Federation of India Delhi state committee organised a protest demonstration at the UGC headquarters against the steep increase in the fees for the CSIR-UGC NET/JRF examinations. In a recent notification, UGC decided to increase the application fee for CSIR UGC NET 2015 by a whopping 150 per cent across different categories without any reason. Hundreds of students from JNU, Delhi University, Jamia and Ambedkar University raised slogans against this move which clearly derives from the agenda of commercialisation of education, which is being pursued by the Modi regime.
