CPI(M) Condoles Comrade Do Muoi

THE Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condoles the death of Comrade Do Muoi, former general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and former prime minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He expired on October 1, at the age of 102 years.

Comrade Muoi was a veteran communist leader who fought against both the French colonialists and US imperialism. He rose through the ranks of the Communist Party, serving the party and the people in various capacities. His unswerving commitment to the revolutionary ideals and the theory of Marxism-Leninism guided his actions as the general secretary of the CPV and later as the prime minister of the country. He remained true to these ideals to his last. Comrade Muoi used his vast revolutionary experience to guide the country on the path of socialist construction.

The CPI(M) expresses its grief at the death of Comrade Do Moui and conveys its heartfelt sympathies to the members of his family, the CPV and all the people of Vietnam. We pay our homage to his memory and pledge to carry forward the struggle for the establishment of a society free from all kinds of exploitation.
