KERALA: DYFI activist Brutally Murdered by RSS Goons in Kasaragode

NS Sajith

HUGE protests erupted across the state of Kerala over the brutal murder of DYFI activist in Kasaragode, the north end district of the state. Abubacker Siddiq was stabbed to death at around 10 pm on August 5, by RSS criminals. A four member gang led by Ashwath and Karthik executed the murder in the darkness. Ashwat and Karthik both are history-sheeters and have been arrested by the police. Abubacker Siddiq was 23 years old and always stood in the forefront of DYFI's activities against the forces which spread communalism. He, a native of Uppala, fought against anti-social elements like drug and illicit liquor lobby which was pampered by local RSS leaders.

Soon after the stabbing incident, he was taken to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital in Kannur district. But he succumbed to his injuries. Thousands of people gathered on both sides of the road from Pariyaram to Uppala to pay tributes to the young fighter. His body was cremated on August 6. The body was received by CPI(M) Central Committee members EP Jayarajan MLA, P Karunakaran MP, Kasaragode district secretary MV Balakrishnan and Dr VPP Mustafak Sabu Abraham, district secretariat member.

DYFI had organised huge protests all over the state against the dastardly killing of Abubacker Siddiq. CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan urged the people to launch an all-out protest against the RSS. Abubacker Siddiq is the 17th CPI(M) cadre who has been killed after the LDF came into power in 2016. Both the RSS and SDPI are trying to spread riots in the state by organising such killings. Siddiq's murder happened weeks after the murder of SFI leader Abhimanyu. Siddiq's murder exposed the unholy links between the BJP and the liquor-drug Mafia. BJP is isolated from the people of Kasaragode, Kodiyeri said.
