Massive Rally in Coochbehar

WEST Bengal witnessed semi-fascist terror in seventies what Tripura witnessed in mid-eighties in the name of separatism. But such terror cannot sustain for long as was proven in both Bengal and Tripura. So the terror that Trinamool Congress is currently unleashing in West Bengal today is bound to be defeated by the people, asserted Tripura chief minister and CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Manik Sarkar while addressing a massive Left Front rally in Coochbehar.

Veteran Forward Block Leader, Ex-Minister Brutally Attacked

IN the ongoing attack on opposition parties, TMC miscreants brutally beat up veteran Forward Block leader and former food and supplies minister Naren Dey in Hooghly's Dhaniakhali on 8th December evening. The Forward Bloc was holding a meeting at their office premises when the attack took place. Former MLA from Dhaniakhali, Ajit Patra, was also injured in the attack.

Modi Represents RSS and Corporates: Karat

TERMING Narendra Modi as a representative of communal and corporate forces, CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat asserted that the Left parties will fight to thwart the attempt of BJP to come back to power.
Addressing a massive rally in Sahid Minar maidan organised by the Kolkata district Left Front on 06th December, the CPI(M) leader said the convention called by the Left and other regional parties recently in Delhi had decided to stop communal forces at any cost and unify secular and democratic forces.

Yechury Calls Upon People To Defend Secularism

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member and leader of Party group in Rajya Sabha, Sitaram Yechury, called upon people to steadfastly defend secularism and secular democratic ideals. Speaking at Jyoti Basu centenary celebrations in Darjeeling town, Yechury recollected the role of Jyoti Basu in defending the secular fabric of the country and said, Basu was unwavering on this question. As a communist leader and as an administrator Basu always upheld the principle of secularism without faltering. He was an example on this question.

Sit-in Demonstration to Defend Democracy

THOUSANDS of people joined in the sit-in protest to condemn the attack on democratic rights of the people in the state for over past two and a half year. At the call of the Left Front, the protest held at the Rani Rasmani Road near Esplanade, Kolkata started at 1 PM and continued till 5 PM. Biman Basu, Surjya Kanta Mishra and other Left Front leaders were present at the sit-in protest.

Councilors Forced To Resign at Gun Point

This is how Trinamool Congress compelled 6 CPI(M) councilors to resign by force in Halisahar Municipality in North 24 Parganas district. In one of most gruesome attacks on democracy, armed gangs of the ruling party blatantly declared that they would capture the municipality, won by the Left Front in 2010 elections.
