21st Party Congress Logo Unveiled

THE logo for the 21st Congress of the CPI(M) was released on November 19 at M B Bhavan in Hyderabad by CPI(M) Polit Bureau member B V Raghavulu. The Party Congress is scheduled to take place from April 14 - 19, 2015 in the port city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Reflecting the city's identity of being a major port on the east coast and being home to a large working class population, the logo depicts a huge ship draped in red colour, on top of which the working people are standing with raised arms and flags.

AIDWA to Intensify Fight against Political, Economic and Cultural Onslaughts

THE 14th state conference of Tamilnadu unit of the All India Democratic Women’s Association was held from September 20-22, 2014 at Captain Lakshmi, Shyamali Gupta Memorial Hall in the city of Salem in Tamilnadu. The flag post in memory of martyr Krishnammal was brought by the Salem district committee and the flag in memory of Pappa Umanath was brought from Trichy. In memory of KP Janaki Ammal, Shajathi, Veerammal, Kasthuri and Leelavathi, memorial torches were brought from Madurai Rural, Cuddalore, Coimbatore, Theni and Madurai Urban districts respectively.

First Telangana CITU Conference Calls for Demands Day on Oct 6

THE first conference of Telangana CITU was held from September 5-7, 2014 in Khammam city with great enthusiasm. The whole Khammam city was charged with conference atmosphere and support of the local people was visible. The conference was held in the background of the bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was held in the background of the fall of the UPA government at the centre and coming to power of the BJP government with absolute majority aided by a media blitzkrieg supported by corporate moneybags.

DYFI Rajasthan Holds State Conference

THE 13th State Conference of the Rajasthan state DYFI was held at Gharshana, Sri Ganga Nagar from August 3-5, 2014. The conference was attended by 110 delegates representing 77,146 members in the state.
On August 3, a huge rally marking the beginning of the conference passed through various thoroughfares of the city and reached the venue of the public conference. M B Rajesh, president of DYFI and MP, inaugurated the public meeting. Amra Ram, MLA and other DYFI leaders spoke at the public meeting.

Eighth All India Conference of the All India Agricultural Workers Union

THE eighth all India conference of the All India Agricultural Workers Union was held at Warangal between July 30 and August 2. In many ways it was a historic event, being the first all India conference of any organisation to be held in the newly found state of Telangana. Enthusiastic Response to AIAWU Conference

THE announcement of the eighth All India Conference of the All India Agricultural Workers Union from July 30 to August 2, 2014 at the office bearers meeting held at Hyderabad on July 16, has had a snowballing effect on the poorest and the most oppressed in the country. The conference will represent membership from 14 states. The number of delegates has reached 831. Not the least is the fact that the state of Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana and Andhra) has increased its membership beyond last year to 16, 05,912 from 14, 63,827.
