21st Assam State Conference Calls for Strengthening Class & Mass Struggles

THE three-day 21st Assam State Conference of the CPI(M) was held in Tezpur on March 15-17. The conference started with a massive open rally on March 15 at the Collegiate School ground in the heart of Tezpur. Braving scorching heat, about eight thousand people attended the rally which was presided over by CPI(M) state secretariat member Hemen Das. Polit Bureau members S R Pillai and Manik Sarkar and CPI(M) state secretary Uddhab Barman addressed the rally, besides others.

CPI(M) Kerala State Conference Ends With a Massive Rally

THE 21st conference of CPI(M) Kerala state committee was held in Alappuzha, the land of historic Punnapra Vayalar struggle. The four-day conference began on February 20 with veteran Communist and opposition leader in the Kerala legislative assemby V S Achuthanandarn  hoisting the Party flag in Krishnapillai Nagar (S K Convention Centre, Kalarkode) in the presence of all-India leaders, delegates, Red volunteers and thousands of other people. Before the flag hoisting, state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan lit a huge torch mounted in front of the auditorium.

JHARKHAND: CPI(M) State Conference Calls For Defeating Corporate Loot Of Land, Forest and Natural Resources

THE fifth state conference of CPI(M) Jharkhand was organised successfully in BokaroSteelCity. The city houses one of the largest public sector steel plants in the country. There has been a sharp decline in the number of regular workers, who have been replaced by part time contractual workers in the plant over the years.

CPI(M) Uttar Pradesh State Conference Held

THE 21st conference of CPI(M) Uttar Pradesh State Committee, held in Bulandshahr from January 10-12, gave a clarion call to end stagnation in the Party and intensify people’s struggles against the twin danger of neo-liberalism and communalism. The Bulandshahr district committee of the Party made elaborate arrangements to make the three-day conference a success and an unforgettable event. The conference venue was named after Captain Lakshmi Sehgal.

 

CPI(M) Releases Draft Political Resolution & Draft Review Report on Political-Tactical Line

CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat along with Polit Bureau members Sitaram Yechury and K Varadharajan released the Draft Political Resolution and Draft Review Report on the Political-Tactical Line for the 21st Party Congress in New Delhi on February 4, 2015 at a crowded press conference. The 21st Party Congress will be held at Visakhapatnam from April 14-19.

STFI Delegation Visits Bengal, Meets Teachers Tortured by TMC Goons

A DELEGATION of School Teachers’ Federation of India (STFI) paid a week-long visit to different parts of West Bengal to meet teachers who have become the victim of undemocratic political activities by members and supporters of the state’s ruling Trinamool Congress. The delegation comprising STFI general secretary K Rajendran, federation president Abhijit Mukharjee, secretariat member Swapan Bal and CEC member Indumadhab Mohanty visited several areas of Birbhum, Bankura, Hooghly, and East and West Midnapore districts from December 29 to January 5.

KARNATAKA: CPI(M) State Conference calls for Decisive Struggles on People’s Issues

THE 21st CPI(M) Karnataka state conference was held in Bangalore from January 8-11, 2015. It was attended by 263 delegates including 40 women. 55 observers participated, 14 of them were women. The conference venue was named after Comrade R Umanath and the dais after Comrade Savaridas - veteran comrade who led the communist movement in Kolar Gold Fields for decades.  The red flag was hoisted by 81-year old veteran comrade K R Sriyan, leader from Dakshina Kannada with distinguished record of over five decades of service in the communist movement. 

UTTARAKHAND: Fifth State Conference of CPI(M) Concludes with an Optimistic Note

THE fifth state conference of the Uttarakhand CPI(M) concluded on December 29 at Karan Prayag in the Chamoli district of the state. The township situated on the Badrinath highway at the confluence of River Alaknanda and Pindar was decorated with Party flags, posters, festoons and extensive postering and wall writing. The conference began with a massive rally which comprised of peasant men and women, anganwadi and village workers of assorted trades, local lawyers, students and youth.

IN one of the biggest ever mobilisation of women workers in the capital, on November 21, 2014, twenty three thousand anganwadi workers and helpers from 21 states and UTs - Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Pondicherry Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal marched to Parliament in a colourful procession. The march started under the leadership of the All India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers from Ramlila Maidan.
