MUMBAI: LDF Denounces RSS Threat to Kerala CM

HUNDREDS of activists of the Left and Democratic Front in Mumbai belonging to various parties, viz CPI(M), CPI, Lal Nishan Party, CPI(ML) Liberation and Bharip-Bahujan Mahasangh participated in a militant demonstration on March 6 at Dadar Railway Station in Mumbai. The demonstration strongly denounced the inciting declaration of a reward of one crore rupees by Kundan Chandrawat, RSS Head Pracharak of Ujjain city in Madhya Pradesh, for beheading Pinarayi Vijayan, chief minister of Kerala and Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M).

Protest against CBI Hounding Of Teesta Setalvad Held in Mumbai

AROUND 150 activists from various organisations assembled outside Dadar Railway Station in central Mumbai on July 16 evening to protest against the CBI hounding of Teesta Setalvad and Javed Anand. The DYFI, SFI and AIDWA took the initiative for organising the protest. CPI(M) Central Committee members Mahendra Singh and Sudha Sundararaman, noted film-maker Anand Patwardhan and many well-known intellectuals and artists joined the protest. Students of FTII and TISS also joined it.

Impressive Rally against Superstition, Communalism

ON December 2, 2013, an impressive rally of several thousand people marched in Mumbai around three main demands. These were: immediate enactment of a law against black magic and superstition in the ensuing session of the state assembly at Nagpur beginning December 9; immediate arrest of the killers of Dr Narendra Dabholkar and of the diabolical forces behind this murder; and stringent action against communal and obscurantist forces.
