Heinous Murder of Prof Kalburgi

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on August 31.

THE Polit Bureau expresses its deep shock and condemnation of the dastardly killing of Prof M M Kalburgi, renowned Kannada scholar, writer and former vice chancellor of Kannada University, Hampi. Prof M M Kalburgi was known for his strong views against superstition, obscurantism and for scientific temper.

Magnificent Strike

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on September 2, 2015.

THE Polit Bureau congratulates the working class of India for the magnificent strike they organised today (September 2, 2015). The CPI(M) had extended full support to the strike and the joint demand charter of the ten central trade unions and national and state federations.

On Gujarat Violence

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on August 27, 2015.

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) condemns the violence which has engulfed various parts of Gujarat resulting in arson and deaths of nine people.  The manner in which the police and the administration handled the aftermath of the August 25 rally organised by the Pattidar organisations contributed to the eruption of violence. The CPI(M) calls for the immediate restoration of peace and normalcy.

Implement One Rank One Pension Immediately

IN a letter written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 17, Brinda Karat, Polit Bureau member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) who had visited the dharna of defence service pensioners at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on the same day, said that it is sad that defence personnel who have served the nation were being forced to sit on an indefinite hunger strike. It is a shame on the country that such a situation has developed which makes a mockery of the concept of Jai Jawan.

Attack in West Bengal Condemned

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on August 14, 2015.

 

THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemns the attack on Surjyakanta Misra, member of its Polit Bureau and secretary of the West Bengal state committee of the Party and other leaders of the Left Front.  Misra, who is also leader of the opposition in the West Bengal assembly along with other district leaders of the Left Front, was going to visit the camps housing the flood affected in Udanarayanpur in Howrah district.

Twin Train Accidents

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on August 5.

 THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) expresses its shock at the twin train accidents in Harda in Madhya Pradesh in which 30 people have died and many injured.  The Kamayani Express and the Janata Express going on parallel tracks were derailed and some of the coaches fell into the adjoining river.
