Exhibition on RSS Violence in Kerala

A TWO-DAY exhibition titled ‘Mounting Terror: The Real Face of the RSS’ giving glimpses into the history of the violent attacks by the RSS on the CPI(M) cadre in Kerala, was held in New Delhi on November 16-17. The exhibition organised by the Kerala state committee of the Party seeks to call the bluff of the RSS/BJP which, using the Goebbelsian tactics of repeating a lie a hundred times, is fallaciously portraying itself as the victim. The Party has been targeted because the RSS/BJP sees it as a bulwark foiling its communal and regressive agenda.

This is a brazen attack on media freedom and an attempt to gag freedom of expression. It reveals the increasingly authoritarian attitude of the Modi government.

Posturing on Black Money

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement November 9.

THE announcement made by the prime minister about the demonetisation of the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes is not going to yield the desired result of unearthing black money. It will have limited effect and is more like political posturing.

On Triple Talaq

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on October 18, 2016.

THE CPI(M) supports the demand of Muslim women against the practice of arbitrary and instant triple talaq. This specific practice is not permitted in most Islamic countries. Acceptance of this demand will bring relief to affected women.

All personal laws including those for the majority community require reform.
