Sabarimala: Nefarious Plan of BJP

THE BJP and the RSS in Kerala have been organising their activists to send to the Sabarimala temple since it opened for the current pilgrimage season from November 16. The aim is to take control of the premises of the temple and to create a law and order problem there.

Support Transport Workers’ Strike

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on August 5

THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) extends its support to the one day national strike call on August 7, against the retrograde provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act Amendment Bill and the continuous rise in the prices of petroleum products.

The demands raised by the All India Co-ordination Committee of Road Transport Workers Organisations are genuine and the government must favourably consider their proposals.

CPI(M) Condemns Assassination Attempt on Nicolas Maduro

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on August 5

THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns the assassination attempt on the president of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro. Drones containing explosives were detonated close to the presidential platform when he was addressing a military parade to mark the 81st anniversary of the Bolivarian National Guard.

CITU Congratulates Road-Transport Workers for Magnificent Strike on Aug 7

MORE than three crore road transport workers in state-transport, private passenger transport, goods transport and small passenger transport like auto, taxi etc., have staged a magnificent strike action throughout the country on August 7. This strike was to voice their protest against the draconian Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill (MVAB) which is still pending for enactment by parliament. 

No Indian Must be Excluded in the NRC in Assam

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on August 1

THE National Register of Citizens (NRC) was part of the Assam Accord which decided on the cut-off date of 1971 to determine the question of illegal migrants settled in Assam.  The work for preparing such a register did not proceed until the Supreme Court intervened and under its directions and supervision, the draft NRC has been prepared.

Current Parliament Session Must Enact Law against `Mob Lynching’

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on July 18, 2018

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the brutal attack on Swami Agnivesh in Pakur, Jharkhand.  The guilty are identified as belonging to the BJP Yuva Morcha. As has now become the norm, the BJP state government can be expected to treat them with great leniency.  The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) demands that proper and adequate medical attention be provided to Swami Agnivesh and that the culprits be punished immediately.
