Modi Peddling Lies, Those Arrested in Sabarimala Indulged in Illegal Acts: Pinarayi

KERALA Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that “if one chants Lord Ayyappan's name in Kerala, they will be put behind bars” is an utter lie. The prime minister is trying to mislead the country in the name of Sabarimala Temple. Modi must protect the dignity of the prime minister’s office. Canvassing support for LDF candidates for the Lok Sabha election in several areas in Kollam district, Vijayan said Modi is trying to insult the people of Kerala.

LDF Campaign Reaches All

As the polling date draws close, state of political affairs in Kerala explicitly shows that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has an edge over the UDF and BJP in all 20 parliamentary constituencies, including Wayanad where Congress president Rahul Gandhi is contesting. Kerala votes on April 23.

J&K: Defeat Communal & Authoritarian Modi Govt

ON April 15, the CPI(M) state committee of the Jammu and Kashmir, after its meeting, urged the people to defeat communal and authoritarian Modi government. Urging the people of the state to vote overwhelmingly, as it is important to vote, to defend the identity and special status of people of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of preserving Article 370 and Article 35 A of the constitution, CPI(M) state committee asked the voters to contribute in the process of evicting disastrous, authoritarian and communal government led by Narendra Modi.

A 100 Years after Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, India Still Awaits British Apology

A PEACEFUL demonstration against the Rowlatt Act at Jallianwala Bagh on April 13, 1919, turned into a site of massacre by the British government, killing more than thousands of protestors including women and children. A hundred years from then, the British government still fails to render an apology for one of the most heinous crimes it had ever committed.

Scrap Electoral Bonds Now

THE electoral bonds scheme which came into effect in March 2018 is a brazen and opaque method to funnel corporate funds, kickbacks and black money into the ruling party’s coffers.

That is why the CPI(M) challenged the scheme and the amendments made in the relevant laws in the Supreme Court. The Association for Democratic Reforms also petitioned the Court to strike down the scheme. The CPI(M) was the only party to declare that it will not accept electoral  bonds.

DELHI: CPI(M) Dharna Demands Repoll in 464 Booths in Tripura

CPI(M) had organised a protest dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on April 16 against the failure of Election Commission of India (ECI) in ensuring free and fair elections in Tripura. The polling for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat saw large scale violence and rigging by the BJP. Election officials and observers and central forces were not seen in the booths that were “captured”. Further, polling agents of the opposition parties were expelled from most of the booths and CCTV cameras were also damaged to hide the misdeeds.
