DELHI: CPI(M) Rally against RSS-BJP Violence in Kerala

CPI(M) held a march against the killing of its activists by the RSS-BJP goons in Kerala. Hundreds of activists of Communist Party of India (Marxist) led by general secretary Sitaram Yechury and Polit Bureau members Md Salim, Subhashini Ali, Raghavulu, Central Committee members and Party activists, marched from Delhi state office of CPI(M) to BJP headquarters protesting against the killing of CPI(M) cadres by RSS-BJP in Kerala. Protests against RSS terror in Kerala were held all over the country.

MAHARASHTRA: Massive Joint Kisan Convention Steps Up Struggle against BJP Regime

A MASSIVE statewide convention of over 10,000 peasants was held at Jalgaon on September 26, 2017 under the banner of the Coordination Committee of Farmers’ Organisations of Maharashtra. This was the next step in the ongoing struggle for loan waiver and remunerative prices, directed against the BJP-led government in the state and at the centre. The last major joint action on August 14 had seen over two lakh peasants blocking all the national highways and state highways (chakka Jaam) in more than 200 centres in 31 districts of Maharashtra.

RSS Workers Attack Houses of CPI(M) Activists and Hospital in Kerala

THE RSS workers were brought to Kerala from outside the state for BJP’s ‘Jana Raksha Yatra’.

Tense atmosphere prevailed in Payyannur in Kannur district of Kerala on October 3 following violence by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers. The RSS workers, who were returning after BJP’s Jana Raksha Yatra, attacked the houses of Communist Party of India (Marxist) activists, private hospitals, ATMs and telephone exchanges and many vehicles in the area.

·         In Kerala it is the CPI(M) and other constituents of the LDF that have been at the receiving end of the murderous attacks mounted by the RSS and its outfits. From 2000 to 2017, Kerala police figures show that 85 CPI(M) workers  and 65 RSS workers were killed.

·         The very first day of the electoral victory of LDF in Kerala, the RSS attack began with the murder of CPI(M) worker Ravindranath while he was participating in the victory procession
of Pinarayi Vijayan in his own constituency.

JHARKHAND: Roll-Back the Draconian Bills

THE State level convention of the Left parties, mass organisations and social organisations held at Social Development Centre, Ranchi on September 23, demanded immediate roll back of the following black bills brought by the BJP led NDA government of Jharkhand

i)                Jharkhand Freedom of Religion Bill-2017

ii)              Remedy & Right to fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill-2017.
