Greetings from South African Communist Party

THE South African Communist Party (SACP) conveys its revolutionary greetings to the entire leadership and membership of, and to all delegates attending the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). This is an event of great magnitude in the struggle against capitalism, its highest stage of imperialism and its variant in the form and content of neo-liberalism.

The importance of the 22nd Congress of the CPI(M) to the struggle for human liberation, the struggle for environmental protection to save both human society and the whole of nature from the danger of capitalist production, the struggle for socialism, cannot be overemphasized.

While your struggle is proceeding from the historical conditions obtaining in India, and has to resolve the primary and secondary contradictions of the Indian society, as an international struggle for universal social emancipation it is our struggle too. In addition, the internationalisation of capitalist production, its neo-liberal globalisation or functional integration through neo-liberal restructuring, and the massively increased capital mobility, have entrenched the regime of private monopoly capital.

As a result, workers in different parts of the world are faced with an increasingly the same strata of monopolies and similar restructuring processes almost in every sector of the political economy. How the working class through progressive trade unions, other social formations and the Communist Party responds requires intensification of fraternal relations including increased international exchange programmes.

The SACP is therefore looking forward to the outcomes of the 22nd Congress of the CPI(M) with keen interest, and wishes the Congress a resounding success.

Onward ever to Socialism!
