THE All India Lawyers Union, in a statement issued on December 20, has condemned in strongest term the action of some so-called Hindu organisation hoisting saffron flag on the district court building at Udaipur in Rajasthan on December 14, 2017. It was an atrocious act of defiling the secular place meant to protect rule of law and the constitutional mandate of providing justice to the people practicing different faiths and beliefs.

Some organisations claiming allegiance to RSS are posing an open challenge to the institutions which are to act as protectors of conscience and ethos of the constitution. In this particular incident, they have challenged the judiciary. It is high time that the judiciary acts tough with these kinds of elements. This kind of bizarre incident could not be possible without the connivance of some elements in the administration and the political executive. They should be found out and punished.

All India Lawyers Union is writing to the chief justice of India and chief justice of Rajasthan High Court urging them to protect the judiciary and the secular character of the courts from the onslaughts of Hindutva forces.

All India lawyers Union demands the Government of Rajasthan to act fast to bring the culprits to book and punish the guilty.
