AIKS Delegation Visits Pehlu Khan’s Family

The leaders of All India Kisan Sabha visited Jaisinghpur of Nuh district of Haryana on April 7, to console the bereaved family members of Pehlu Khan, the dairy farmer who was killed by Sangh Parivar organisations. AIKS leaders comprising Hannan Mollah, general secretary, P Krishnaprasad, finance secretary, Master Sher Singh, president of Haryana Kisan Sabha and Manoj Kumar visited the family of the victims.   Satvir Singh, state president of CITU, Major S L Prajapathy, Gurgaon District secretary of CPI(M) were also part of the delegation.

The delegation met Pehlu Khan’s mother Ankuri Begam, wife Jebuna Begam, and two children Irshad and Arif who were also injured in the same incident and consoled them. Pehlu Khan had six children including four daughters. Hundreds of villagers gathered to receive the Kisan sabha leaders and they have arranged a meeting also. Ajmal Khan, former MLA,  Kale Khan, former sarpanch, Sarfudeen and Khaleel Ahamad Akthar Hassan of Sahdani Sabha, Mewat, Raj Singh and Adv. Arshad Khan among others attended the meeting.  The meeting decided to call a panchayat of the people of neighbourhood villages in the next week.

The family of Pehlu Khan has around 1.5 acre land and was depending on wheat cultivation and dairying as livelihood. Pehlu Khan, his two children, his nephew and two other villagers went to Jaipur to purchase milching animals since they hope they could get animals cheap in the cattle fair of Jaipur Haatwada.

The people of entire Mewat region dominated by Muslim population have the rich tradition of Hindu-Muslim amity and brotherhood in the name of “Gothpal” tradition from time immemorial. The Muslim families are traditionally peasants and cattle breeders. The brutal killing of Pehlu Khan by RSS organisations has created fear psychosis and nervousness among the peace loving people.

The FIR has clearly stated that the mob which attacked the farmers belongs to Viswa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. It indicates the role of RSS in the heinous attack on the farmers. After Pehlu Khan died succumbing to his injuries, the district leaders of VHP had threatened the senior police officers of dire consequences if they arrest any of their activists. The police registered a false FIR against Pehlu Khan and other innocent farmers despite they having records of purchasing from Jaipur Municipal Corporation.  The home minister of Rajasthan was accusing the farmers of smuggling cow by violating law and the union minister Mukhthar Abbas Naqvi has misguided the Rajya Sabha, denying no such incident of murder occurring in Rajasthan.  All this expose the role of RSS and BJP leaders to defend and save the culprits who have committed this heinous crime and let them go scot free.

It is a serious situation of dragging the country towards anarchy and lawlessness which needs to be fought tooth and nail, to protect the democratic rights of the people and secular fabric of the society. AIKS leaders opined that high level enquiry to unearth the conspiracy by Sangh   Parivar in the Alwar killing needs to be ordered and effective steps have to be taken to rally the people to attain the same.

AIKS leaders assured the villagers and the family members all help including legal aid to ensure strong action and stringent punishment to all culprits as per law.

AIKS leaders along with members of parliament met home minister Rajnath Singh on April 10 on this issue. AIKS general secretary Hannan Mollah, ex MP, finance secretary P Krishnaprasad along with MPs, Jitendra Chaudhury (Lok Sabha), Sankar Prasad Datta (Lok Sabha),  Md Badaruddoza Khan, (Lok Sabha) met the home minister.

The delegation demanded Rs One crore as compensation considering the gravity of the heinous crime and a government job for Pehlu Khan’s family, free treatment and Rs 25 lakh as compensation to all other victims and immediate arrest of all culprits.

AIKS will collect fund from peasant households across the country to help the hapless family of Pehlu Khan.  It called upon its units all over the country to organise communal amity meetings in villages, in memory of Pehlu Khan before April 30.
